NAMIBIA DESERT XPLORER TOUR - 15 DAYS:

Messum Crater Namibia Scenery Desert Delight

Visor View

The Namibia Desert Xplorer Tour departs from bustling Cape Town and heads straight up the West Coast of South Africa to the small sea side town of Lamberts Bay. We continue north and cross into Namibia to follow the flow of the Orange River downstream on beautiful gravel roads through the Namibian Richtersveldt.

From our temporary base at Aus we will explore the desert coastal town of Luderitz and Kolmanskop - the ghost mining town of yester year. On our way back to Aus we stop at the mysterious feral horses of Garub. We continue north on beautiful gravel roads to Sesriem from where we will explore the Namib desert in the Namib Naukluft Park. Time permitting, we will explore the Sesriem Canyon on foot before we journey on to the desert, coastal town of Swakopmund for a two night stop over to fully enjoy its German culture and colonial feel.

We visit the "Moon landscape" and "Welwitchia" routes around Swakopmund and then continue our journey towards the iconic Spitzkoppe mountains. From Windhoek, the capital, we head down south and detour through the Kalahari desert region before we pay a visit to the majestic Fish River Canyon (second only to the Grand Canyon in size). Ever so slowly we throttle south to arrive in Cape Town, two days later.

The Namibia Desert Xplorer Tour is a high impact tour, taking in some of the most scenic destinations, roads and mountain passes the vast southern Namibia has on offer. We mostly travel on good gravel roads, however you will require previous gravel riding experience to enjoy this tour and have a safe journey. The ever changing road surfaces of Namibia could potentially be very dangerous to the inexperienced rider.

Contact us with requests for any other tour destinations, in this superb "Big Sky" country or for more extreme riding challenges to unique and remote places.
